Use the supplied AC power cord to connect the AC power connector to an AC power outlet
The Cisco RPS connector offers connection for an optional Cisco RPS 2300 that uses AC input and supplies DC output to the switch
Only the Cisco RPS 2300 (model PWR-RPS2300) should be attached to the redundant-power-system receptacle

Switches supporting Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) can supply power to any IEEE 802.3af or IEEE 802.3at compliant end device. PoE+ removes the need for wall power to each PoE+ enabled device and eliminates the cost for additional electrical cabling that would otherwise be necessary in IP phone and wireless LAN deployments. PoE switches also eliminate the need for power injectors and PoE midspans for powering IP devices. The list of devices that require more than the 15.4W provided by 802.3at is growing. Devices currently requiring more than 15.4W of PoE power include Cisco video IP phones and IP video cameras. Additional devices requiring more than 15.4W of power are coming.
WS-C2960X-48FPS-L supports both the PoE and PoE+ standards and can classify a powered device as either Type 1 or 2 with a one-event classification. A Type 2 powered device supports Class 4 in order to obtain more power than is supported by the legacy power levels (30W). A Type 1 powered device can support only up to Class 3, or 15.4W.
No. Two-event classification is specific to mid spans that work on power-supplying equipment (PSE). The Cisco Catalyst 2960-X Series supports only one-event classification.
Yes, the Cisco Catalyst 2960-X Series Switches can optionally detect the powered device power classification signature and budget the appropriate power. This reduces the maximum power that must be budgeted by the switch and provisioned in the wiring closet.
The Cisco Catalyst 2960-X Series supports both PoE standards, 802.3af and 802.3at, which define the maximum power that can be supplied to a port. The switches can provide up to 30W per port.
